The other day while driving around up here – I discovered a Reptile Park. This little guy is one of the baby Red Ear Sliders in a terrarium setup. These guys get to dinner plate size with an average lifespan of 30-40 years, are not often well cared for by the average well meaning home aquarist. But they are thriving here.

After a very turbulent last 6 months – I am back. Alot has changed – but in relation to this part of my life the biggest change is having to sell my D90 to make ends meet. However I can’t be without a camera so I downgraded to a nice little Olympus SP-570. This is one of my favorite images of a friend and his new pup, taken at a recent trip to the lake. Loki – the pup, is an 11 weeks old Blue Border Collie. It is so nice to get those candid, emotional shots.

Now I get excited about little things – but especially wildlife. On a road trip a few months ago was a group of wild turkeys on the side of the road…I quickly pulled over and amongst strange looks and smiles from passing traffic – took a moment to capture this lot in the sun.

One day while teaching my Advanced Photography class we headed down to a small pier to discuss the Rule of Thirds – making and breaking the rules. This was one of my resulting shots.

Image three in my B&W series – this is one of my favorites – I like the contrast between the stamen and petals and how the lines in the petals really show up much better than in colour.
