Rear View Photography

I thought I would open with one of my favorite images.

On a trip to Christchurch, I went to the Antarctic Centre and spent a while observing the penguins. Try as I might I couldn’t get any photos of them though that had the Wow! factor. Then just as I was getting ready to leave – the clouds shifted and sunlight streamed into their enclosure and illuminated this bit of kelp. The contrast, the vivid colours and the subtle movement make it one of my favorties still. Enjoy!
